This helicopter was featured in a movie depicting the events |
| |
leading to the devastating May 18th, 1980 eruption of Mount |
| |
St. Helens. It was shot in 1981 in Bend, OR, and is seen |
| |
quite frequently throughout the entire movie. At the time, |
| |
she wore a paint scheme much more beautiful than the |
| |
currently featured plain white. She was a beautiful deep |
| |
metallic blue with a large white accent stripe outlined in a |
| |
narrow gold band. Her N-Number at the time was in small |
| |
black lettering below the doors. The movie stars Art Carney |
| |
as Harry Truman, the 84-year-old lodge owner at Spirit Lake |
| |
who refused to leave when the volcano awakenened in March of |
| |
1980. |
