Text This helicopter was featured in a movie depicting the events
leading to the devastating May 18th, 1980 eruption of Mount
St. Helens. It was shot in 1981 in Bend, OR, and is seen
quite frequently throughout the entire movie. At the time,
she wore a paint scheme much more beautiful than the
currently featured plain white. She was a beautiful deep
metallic blue with a large white accent stripe outlined in a
narrow gold band. Her N-Number at the time was in small
black lettering below the doors. The movie stars Art Carney
as Harry Truman, the 84-year-old lodge owner at Spirit Lake
who refused to leave when the volcano awakenened in March of
1980.
