For clarification for all; I work for Canadian Helicopters, |
| |
which owns and operates all the rotary wing air ambulances |
| |
in Ontario. They are operated under dedicated contract to |
| |
the Ontario Ministry of Health Emergency Health Services |
| |
Branch. All are Sikorsky S-76A models. Up until late |
| |
2000/early 2001 the aircraft and pilots were supplied by |
| |
Canadian, and the paramedics worked directly for the |
| |
Ministry. We all now work for Canadian. There are a total |
| |
of 8 helicopters, which use the following call signs:
791 |
| |
-- Ottawa
792 -- London
793 -- Moosonee/Moose |
| |
Factory
794 -- Kenora
797 -- Thunder Bay
798 -- |
| |
Sudbury
799 -- Toronto (Toronto A/C are additionally ID'd |
| |
by the last )
799 -- Toronto (letter of their tail |
| |
number, e.g. 799Hotel )
The paramedics take medical |
| |
direction from the Ontario Air Ambulance Base Hospital |
| |
Program, which is affiliated with Sunnybrook Hospital. I |
| |
hope that clears everything up =) |
