Text Not to be confused with the different variaions of the
LongRanger,Bell produced 4 different versions of this
vunerable helicopter.The basic 206L powered by a Rolls-Royce
250-C20B turboshaft of 420shp or a 250-C20R1 turboshaft of
450shp,then there is the 206L1 LongRanger II powered by a
250-C28B turboshaft of 500shp.Since there was no 206L2
LongRanger manufacturered,Bell built the 206L3 powered by a
250-C30P turboshaft of 650shp.The last production model is
the 206L4 LongRanger which is powered by the same 250-C30P
engine as the L3,but has a 490shp transmission.That is 55
more shp then the L1 or L3 and 70 more shp then in the basic
L LongRanger. There was a military version of the LongRanger
that never reached production,it was called the 206LM
TexasRanger.Twin engine models include the Bell
manufacturered 206LT TwinRanger and the Tridair Gemini
L-1ST,L-ST and L-4ST conversions.The LongRanger also spawned
the 407 which was a converted LongRanger prototype.
