They are operated under dedicated contract to the Ontario Ministry of Health Emergency Health Services Branch. All are Sikorsky S-76A models. Up until late 2000/early 2001 the aircraft and pilots were supplied by Canadian, and the paramedics worked directly for the Ministry. We all now work for Canadian. There are a total of 8 helicopters, which use the following call signs:
791 -- Ottawa
792 -- London
793 -- Moosonee/Moose Factory
794 -- Kenora
797 -- Thunder Bay
798 -- Sudbury
799 -- Toronto (Toronto A/C are additionally ID'd by the last )
799 -- Toronto (letter of their tail number, e.g. 799Hotel )
The paramedics take medical direction from the Ontario Air Ambulance Base Hospital Program, which is affiliated with Sunnybrook Hospital. I hope that clears everything up =)
